📊 N3 · Statistics and Probability

Per the ACER Assessment Framework, Statistics and Probability makes up approximately 25–35% of the LANTITE Numeracy test — roughly 16 to 23 of the 65 questions (estimate only; the precise number varies between test forms).

This course covers every chart and graph type that has appeared on the LANTITE: bar charts, back-to-back bar charts, population pyramids, scatter plots, box-and-whisker plots, pie charts, line graphs, and stem-and-leaf plots. You’ll learn to read tables of data, identify trends, compute means, medians, modes and ranges, work with percentages of populations, and calculate simple and compound probabilities using everyday teaching contexts.

Many candidates underestimate this domain because the maths feels familiar, but the test rewards careful chart reading more than raw calculation. Each lesson includes worked examples drawn from teaching scenarios — student test scores, class demographics, school survey data — so the practice always feels grounded in the work you’ll actually do.
