๐Ÿ’ฌ L4 ยท Vocabulary & Word Knowledge

Vocabulary in context is its own skill โ€” separate from grammar (rules) and reading comprehension (interpretation). The LANTITE tests word meaning in specific sentence contexts, closest synonyms, and discriminating between commonly confused words and eggcorns. This course builds the academic vocabulary teachers need both to pass the test and to teach effectively.

What you’ll learn:
โ€ข The closest-synonym question type and how to attack it strategically
โ€ข Academic vocabulary common in education texts (paradigm, implicit, prevalent, empirical, nuance and more)
โ€ข Formal register โ€” picking the right word for professional contexts
โ€ข Confused words (fewer/less, infer/imply, lay/lie) and eggcorns (the matching-table format)
โ€ข Word families, prefixes and suffixes for decoding unfamiliar words

Includes 8 lessons and 1 quiz (30 questions).
